(a) WIAA along with Mumbai Police Crime Branch organized an Exhibition on Anti Car Theft Devices on 12th and 13th June 2006 at Seva Sadan Hall . The exhibition was inaugurated by Shri A. N. Roy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai in the presence of Mrs. Meera Borwankar, Joint Commissioner of Police Crime Branch, Shri.Satish Chand Mathur, IPS Joint Commissioner of Police-Traffic, Shri. Dhananjay Kamlakar DCP Detection and many senior police officers.
Around 3650 cars were stolen from Mumbai city last year and to bring the awareness for the same amongst the automobile owners, the Crime Branch invited WIAA to be associated in the exhibition. Companies manufacturing Anti Theft Devices displayed their products along with few companies who are in the business of etching of Registration Numbers of cars on windscreens and windows.
Around 500 vehicle owners visited the exhibition WIAA distributed pamphlets and received good publicity in the press and electronic media.

(b) 1st July 2006 was celebrated as Anti Motor Vehicles Theft Day. WIAA along with Mumbai Police Crime Branch organized a demonstration of etching of Registration Numbers of vehicles on windscreens and windows of the vehicles. The first car to be etched was of Shri. A. N. Roy, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai. WIAA invited the Retaina Group from UK, who are excellent in etching business. The Police Officers praised the workmanship of the group. Our association will be entering in to a collaboration with them & start etching the vehicles of our members.
Pamphlets were distributed at Police Stations, Petrol Pumps and banners were displayed at various places in the city. The function was widely covered by Press and Electronic Media.
