Simulator training is being done for the first time in Western India. A driving simulator imported from France, would be used to train people learning to drive. This is a pioneer step taken by WIAA to improve -
Safe Driving
Driving is a privilege and a responsibility. A driver must obey the traffic laws and must be prepared to react to other drivers and driving conditions.

The driver must always plan ahead for the unexpected. Always be prepared to react to the other driver. Do not expect the other driver to do what you think he or she should do. Do not think you know what he or she is going to do.

If you cannot avoid a crash, remain calm and try to choose the least dangerous situation. Weather can create a driving hazard. Special care must be taken in fog, rain, high winds and winter driving conditions.

Rapid growth of vehicular population, bad road condition, limited skill of driver resulted in sharp raise in road accidents during last decade.

Generally accidents are caused by the mistakes committed by the drivers due to limited knowledge and skills.
Ten Common Driving Mistakes
1. Failing to pay attention-"zoning out."
2. Driving while drowsy.
3. Becoming distracted inside the car (radio, cell phone, children).
4. Failing to adjust to adverse weather conditions.
5. Driving aggressively (tailgating, running red lights, stop signs, etc)
6. Making assumptions about other drivers' intentions.
7. Speeding.
8. Changing lanes without checking blind spots and mirrors.
9. Driving while upset.
10. Ignoring essential auto maintenance (brake lights, bald tires, etc.).
With the various courses undertaken by WIAA in past, it is felt that, in any field, explanation of risk factors is too important to promote safety because once the risk factors are made known to a person, it is a human nature not to create or get involved in a situation which could be dangerous or unsafe. WIAA felt that time has come to change the driver's mental attitude/condition from rash and reckless driving to safe and defensive driving therefore it has undertaken various course to provide in-depth education on road safety.
