Similipal National Park

In the north – east of the state, 250 km from Calcutta and 320 km from Bhubaneshwar, this park covers 2750 sq km and is part of Project Tiger. There are tigers, elephants and several types of deer among the many species here. The scenery is beautiful and varied with hills, waterfalls and undisturbed forest in which the extensive wildlife manages to remain well hidden.

The entrances to the park are on the western side at Jashipur, or more conveniently at Baripada. The park is closed from July to October.

Getting There
Jashipur is accessible by bus (or train and bus via Bangriposhi) from Baripada.
